Siendo uno de los pasajes más famosos e incluso más amados del Nuevo Testamento, las Bienaventuranzas que escuchamos hoy también son algunas de las más difíciles de entender porque son muy paradójicas. Como la “paradoja” sobre la que se funda nuestra fe (la Encarnación – el Inmortal haciéndose mortal, Dios haciéndose hombre, el sin principio naciendo, etc.), estas bienaventuranzas pueden confundirnos si no buscamos la sabiduría para comprenderlas. Si bien es posible que no pueda hacer una buena descripción de todas las bienaventuranzas, ¡echemos un vistazo a lo que podrían significar algunas de las declaraciones más paradójicas! While one of the most famous, and even most loved passages of the New Testament, the Beatitudes we hear today are also some of the most difficult to understand because they are so paradoxical. Like the “paradox” upon which our faith is founded (the Incarnation – the Immortal becoming mortal, God becoming man, the one without beginning being born, etc), these beatitudes can confound us if we do not seek the wisdom to understand them. While I may not be able to fit a good description of all of the beatitudes, let’s take a little look at what some of the more paradoxical statements might mean!
